Wave Spots Goodbye

There’s nothing worse than doing your job devotedly to be then yelled at by your cranky boss. Taking care of our skin is essential but requires devotion, discipline, time, and money. Whilst I assume we all make those efforts, nobody wants unattractive spots in return. Luckily I’ve picked up some tips along the way and here’s my foolproof way for making spots disappear in two days. It’s a technique that works each and every time so prepare yourself to wave those pesky spots goodbye …

Ingredients:

  • Skin cleanser
  • Acid toner
  • Spot treatment
  • Face oil
  • Moisturiser

Recipe

Step One: Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm
If you want to treat your skin properly, you need to start off with a clean base. This means double cleansing if you either wear make-up or spf. Cleansing your skin should be your number one priority day and night. I adore cleansing balms for this purpose; It’s extremely soothing, nourishing, and hydrating at the same time.

Step Two: Ren Clarifying Toner
Acid-based toners slough off dead skin cells and prep the skin for whatever comes next. This ensures a better product penetration. Poor some toner onto a cotton pad and concentrate on affected areas. Make sure to go over spots well and have no mercy. Don’t panic if a spot starts to bleed, just hold your cotton pad against the spot which will stop it from bleeding. This allows the product to seep in and kill bacteria more effectively.

Step Three: Origins Super Spot Remover
Now it’s time for your spot treatment to rise and shine. Dab a small amount on spots and you should feel a slight tingle which means it’s working its magic. Look for something that contains high levels of salicylic acid that clears pores from oil and debris in order to fight acne effectively.

Step Four: Kahina Argan Oil
Concentrate a small amount of face oil on spots to keep dry patches at bay. It soothes irritation whilst restoring skin texture. I’ve witnessed a noticeable difference when I add face oil to my spot-zapping routine.

Step Five: Origins Night-A-Mins
Moisturiser is the lid on top of a pot – the last step of your skincare routine unless you’re applying spf. Moisturiser doesn’t have to be an investment, spend your money on serums and treatments instead. The purpose of moisturiser is to lock everything in providing a protective layer to the skin. Compare it to cheese topped onto lasagna, that crusty layer of yumminess that pulls everything together as a whole.

You might want to repeat step three and four in order to zap away those pesky spots asap. It would be preferable to do this at night but clear treatments are great to use during the day. It’s pretty much a desk essential for me, just in case of emergencies. Always prepared for a hefty battle, always. Here’s my recipe to achieve spotless skin in two days. The secret is basically to layer products on top of each other and remember to always apply thin layers. You don’t want to suffocate your skin. I have used this method consistently and it works each and every time. The only thing that would still be visible is a faint scar, but there’s nothing that Effaclar Duo Plus can’t solve, right? Give it a week or two and it’s as if nothing has ever happened.

I really cringe at the sight of a spot in sight and the big guns are promptly taken out. I’ve actually been in the possession of the above-mentioned products for yonks but I never benefitted from such astonishing results before because I wasn’t doing it quiet right – so it seems. Rubbing a toner soaked cotton pad against a spot quiet roughly and using a face oil really has made a world of difference. This showcases how important the how-to’s are, reading the manual can sometimes be a life-changer. I’m so pleased with the results that I’d never look back, ever again.

Argh aren’t spots just the worst? I just ran out of the regular Duo and I’m about to try the updated version. The Origins spot remover is a staple here too. It gets the job done so quickly!

You’re going to love the Plus version! Spots are my worst enemies, that’s for sure! X

Great to see what other women use to fight off spots! I really want to try out the Origins spot treatment! And the Night-A-Mins moisturiser too, even if only for the cute name :)

I swear by Effaclar Duo, Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, Clinique’s new spot treatment and religious two-step cleansing when fighting off spots. And patience..

    • http://ALICEYEH.pro/wp Alice Yeh (叶翠云)

Patience is a great one to add to the list. Where can I get it, lol? You should really indulge yourself in some Origins goodies, they have some great stuff you need to try! ;)

I reckon Clinique’s spot treatment is very similar to Origins’s, however the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion really did nothing to my spots. Such a shame! Glad it works for you though! ;) X

The Origins Spot remover has been on my wish list for quite some time and as controversial as it sounds, I’m just waiting for a spot to arise so I can have an excuse to go out and buy this. I’ve just read your in-depth review of this and it has only reinforced my craving for this.
Also, I’ve never come across REN products in Germany before (to be fair I haven’t been looking either) but here every pharmacy stocks it so I technically don’t have an excuse any more ;)

Hi Maja! I’m very jealous that you have the privilege to wait for a spot to make an appearance, jealous jealous jealous! The Origins Super Spot Remover is the most effective spot treatment I have found so far and really deserves a try! ;) Oh, that’s so great that you have access to REN now. I personally think that REN’s exfoliating toner is very gentle but very effective at the same time. I’m pretty much convinced it’s suitable for every skin. The Clarins one on the other hand is a bit too harsh for my skin (the white bottle). Keep me updated when you get your hands on them! X

I’m soooo happy that you’ve found the right routine to deal with spots! I still get teased by acne flare ups on a regular basis so I know how awful it can be to deal with spots.

Haha, thanks Melissa! I couldn’t be any happier. I remember back in the days when acne scars remained visible for a good year, horrible memories, haha. So glad those days belong to the past now! X

Wow thanks for sharing, Alice. What an informative, helpful post. Will be trying these steps out next time I feel a spot coming on… x

Hi Mandy, all the pleasure is mine really. I’d be even happier when this routine turns out well for you! Keep me updated! ;) X

Hey Alice, when I feel a spot forming, I slap Effaclar Duo on! I haven’t tried the new plus version yet, but most people seem to think it’s even better! Will definitely pick up a tube when I run out. I’ve been loving the Emma Hardie cleansing balm! Definitely repurchase material for me :)

    • http://ALICEYEH.pro/wp Alice Yeh (叶翠云)

Hi Sunny, you should definitely try Effaclar Duo Plus! I loved the original formula to pieces and could hardly believe that the Plus version could be so much better but it is! I’m about to finish my third jar … I’m a bit obsessed. I’m going to try Oskia’s one next, have you tried it? X

      • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

I checked last night. I am ALMOST done with my Duo (although it could still take a while). Once that’s gone, I’m definitely switching to Plus!

No I haven’t tried the Oskia one, although it’s always been on my radar :) Keep me posted about what you think!

Hi Alice, you have a great blog can’t wait to read more :)
I use a few of the same products as you to keep my blemish prone skin clear. Love the REN toner and Origins spor remover, it’s the only product that works for me when my skin goes crazy.

Hi Hanh! Thank you so much for your kind words, it really makes my day! I’m so glad these products work well on you. You should try my technique in combination with face oil, and let me know if it works for you! ;) X

I got the Origins nightamins on my list, it’s an acid nightcream so that’s probably why it works so good. The Darphin Ideal Resource nightcream is exactly the same. LOTS of SA & Neroli to purify the skin, love that stuff.

    • http://ALICEYEH.pro/wp Alice Yeh (叶翠云)

I’m onto my second jar, it rocks! Haven’t tried the Darphin one, will keep it mind, thanks! ;)
