It’s that time of year again for blemishes to pop up out of nowhere and me being frustrated about it probably didn’t help hence the large zit fest on my face. Luckily, I had the Soap&Glory Kickass Concealer on hand, which managed to make these blemishes disappear as quickly as they appeared – temporarily of course. It would be a miracle worker otherwise. In that case, I’ll subscribe and gladly be your guinea pig. Anyone?
Soap&Glory Kickass Concealer consists of two pans of concealers. One being more peach-toned and another being more yellow-toned. The peach-toned one is designed to use under the eyes – and therefore slightly creamier in texture – to counteract dark circles, whilst the yellow-toned one should be used to conceal imperfections – and therefore slightly drier in texture. The one designed for under the eyes works surprisingly well. It’s creamy enough that it doesn’t accentuate fine lines and light enough that it didn’t crease. There was no cakiness to be witnessed. And on top of all that, it did brighten up my under eye area as promised.
But what I really use this for is to cover up blemishes and pigmentation marks – well, my face has been quite the maintenance lately. Unfortunately the darker shade is too dark for me so I have to mix both colours in order for it to match my complexion. The darker shade is a tad less creamy than the lighter shade but it has however a much creamier formula than the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. This also means that it’s less opaque so it might take more time and effort to achieve the desired coverage but once you achieve it, it stays put for the rest of the day when layered with powder in between. Alright, it does fade slightly but not enough for having it touched up. It also receives big thumbs up because it doesn’t leave awful dry patches behind unlike LM Secret Camouflage.
There’s also a translucent powder that comes with it, which is lightweight and gets the job done. I honestly use an other powder at home but I can’t deny that it’s a nice addition to the compact. It has already travelled miles with me. It may be a fiddly pot of concealer but the fact that you can custom match your shade and set it in place all at once makes it a must-have on the go. Can you imagine I grabbed this a lot more than my trusty Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage? Even I still can’t.
