Facial oils are requisite to combat dry and lacklustre skin. It’s probably the quickest way to give your skin a treat at the end of a long, exhausting day. A new addition to my bathroom shelves is the not so infamous Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil, which is 100% plant-based with extracts such as Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid to revitalise, tone and restore radiance to moisture-zapped skin. It also contains Hazelnut Oil to prevent moisture loss and the appearance of fine lines. It targets dehydrated skin at its finest but aside from that it also manages to deal with other skin issues as well: blemishes, scars and lacklustre skin don’t stand a chance. 3 to 4 drops suffice to cover my face and leave it velvety soft. I’ve been using it for three weeks now and my skin looks visibly smoother and plumper. I could even omit the use of an hydrating serum in the morning. I’ve relied on this almost every night and I don’t intend to stop doing so.
It was only a matter of time that lip oils were released, since facial oils seem to be a real treat for dry skin. This Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil is as much of a treat for lips as the above is for the face. It’s a very lightweight formula that feels not one bit sticky or oily. It doesn’t slip and slide around but stays right where it’s supposed to be. Honey has a transparent glossy finish with barely any colour pay-off. The big fat spongy applicator is one of the most exciting bit with every use. It almost feels custom made on your bottom lips – talk about a hug on the lips. It’s perfect for day time wear whilst my Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm is now more reserved for nighttime for hardcore nourishment. On top of all the raves, it actually tastes very good as well. No wonder it has obtained a permanent place in my handbag already.
