My skin has been rocking its way through summer. Here’s a short summary: July started out pretty rough on my skin so I decided to do some routine-tweaking and I must’ve done something real good to achieve such mind-blowing results. I did have a few hormonal break-outs though, which sadly can’t be avoided, but I’ve managed to clear them up within two days. So beside two faint blemish marks, my skin is now looking flawless, radiant, unclogged, decongested, and spot-free. So you can imagine that my skin and I are in very happy place right now. I even fail to remember when it was last time that my skin looked this good.
I start my mornings by going straight to the sink, washing my face with my trusty Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. If the decision was all mine, I would’ve bought the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel a long time ago but I still have so many to go through that it remains on my wish list. As long as I’m in the possession of EH, you won’t hear any complains though. Whenever my skin is acting out, it’s this cleansing balm I rely upon. It does a great job at removing every speck of dirt but it’s also very soothing on the skin and the smell is almost therapeutic. Such a great start of the morning. If you fancy a more in depth review of this cleansing balm, I’ll be glad to share it with you! Just give me a nod of approval.
The next step is one I’m extremely faithful to and that will be toners. They are responsible for removing dead skin cells and they ensure a better penetration of the following skincare steps. That just screams result maximisation, how can you not fancy that?! I particularly enjoy the Ren Clarifying Toner: It’s a very gentle toner that exfoliates the skin and reveals a smoother and radiant complexion. There’s nothing not to love about this.
Next up is eye cream, and I’m still rocking the Pai Echium Eye Cream which is an all natural option. It goes hand in hand with my sensitive skin. It has a very light texture but still manages to deliver the right amount of hydration. It sinks in beautifully and provides a flawless base for make-up and concealer in particular.
Now it’s time for Effaclar Duo Plus to shine. I slather this on my post-blemish marks instead of covering my entire face. I’m not too sure if it does a great job at fighting acne but it definitely speeds up the scar-fading process. I’ve had a huge dark spot whilst I was in Venice two weeks ago and it’s barely visible now, great stuff.
I’m still hooked on the Sarah Chapman Hydrating Booster. How can one decline the extra oomph of hydration? Makes no sense to me. I’ve done an in depth review about this, here. I always finish off with a moisturiser to lock everything in. Moisturisers never really excite me that much but the Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer does the job rather well. It’s a very standard, fuss-free moisturiser that has a rather thick texture that’s supposed to calm the skin and leave it quenched and pampered. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, nothing more nothing less.
Summer was pretty much a disaster and so were my lips. They were dry, flaky, chapped … It couldn’t be worse honestly. I couldn’t handle this mess so I went out and bought Sisley’s Confort Extreme Levres. I hadn’t tried this before but oh wow, what a miracle worker. It instantly relieved my lips by soothing and injecting it with full care. Now I’m hooked to the point that I get really annoyed whenever I forget it at home.
I’m very happy with my current skincare routine seeing the achieved results. My skin hasn’t looked this good in yonks. I hardly need any foundation, just a few dabs of concealer and I’m good to go. I’m an extremely chuffed person right now.
