Desperately on the hunt for a bold lip shade that isn’t labelled as red, I stumbled upon Chanel Rouge Allure Rayonnante, a bright fuchsia shade with light dustings of purple, which made me dip my toe into new waters. A ravishing shade that fits about perfectly in this awkward seasonal transition to spring. Awkward because one day it would be surprisingly warm which results in overexcitement that’s naturally being translated into me replacing my winter coat for a lighter alternative only to be welcome outside with a cold, windy and probably rainy day. Welcome to Belgian weather. So whatever the weather conditions, come shine or rain, this beautiful shade will always fit in – instantly perking up a gloomy day.
The lipstick that gets all the attention from me and everyone else around me – so it seems: Chanel Rouge Allure Rayonnante.
Whilst there is no doubt about the shade being a perfect fit, the love goes much further than that. It’s paired with one exquisite formula on which – of course – all coveted adjectives apply. The creaminess smoothes effortlessly over your lips ensuring an even and opaque application without accentuating eventual flaky bits or fine lines, leaving a beautiful luminous satiny finish behind. It has a featherlight formula which guarantees a day with comfortable and supple lips. It may not beat a trusty balm formula but at least your lips are fully dressed in one beautiful shade – and I’m a matte advocate after all. It stays put for over impressive 6 hours without budging or smudging, after which it slowly fades into a pretty and even stain – no need to stress about that dreadful ring of lipstick. The lipstick that gets all the attention from me and everyone else around me – so it seems. It’s probably the most complimented lipstick ever. I can already imagine this being my signature lips for the upcoming months.
